Pentwater Art-Craft Fair

The 42nd annual Pentwater Art-Craft Fair is Saturday at the Pentwater Village Green. The fair, presented by the Pentwater Junior Women’s Club, runs from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

The event is a juried fair, with up to 150 crafters. The show is juried by an outside source and there are prizes for the first and second place “best in show.”

Vickie Scott of the Junior Women’s Club said the proceeds from the fair will go to charity or a project to be decided upon.

“We don’t meet until September, then we will decide what to use the money for,” Scott said. “Usually we will give it to an existing charity or work on a project.”

The event is the sole fund-raiser for the club.

Some of the projects they have been able to fund include maintenance on the Pentwater Village Green, two scholarships for Pentwater High School students, and helping the school band with a trip to Carnegie Hall.

“We usually like to do civic improvement programs, anything we want to help out with we do,” Scott said. “A lot of times, people will ask us for help with their specific need.”

The Pentwater Junior Women’s Club is a group of 15-20 volunteers who put on the fair and use the proceeds to help community causes.
