Baker Barrios finishes design work for Dolive building

Baker Barrios Architects Inc. has completed design plans for Kuhn Cos.’ new Dolive building in downtown Orlando.

The $45 million commercial building at Washington Street and Orange Avenue will feature 224,000 square feet of office space, 17,500 square feet of retail space and an eight-floor parking garage.

Baker Barrios is handling comprehensive architectural services, interior design and construction administration.

“The real challenge of this project was the preservation of a piece of Orlando’s architectural historic fabric in the new building,” says Principal-in-Charge Carlos Barrios, in a release.

Baker Barrios says it used laser scanning technology to replicate the historic building. The new one features a traditional design with elevations of the original building duplicated in the first two floors of the Orange Avenue and Washington Street sides.
