Original Frank Lloyd Wright Furniture Designs to Be Reissued in Seattle

Fans of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright will now be able to own some of the master’s signature furnishings.

McKinnon Furniture, Seattle’s leading designer and manufacturer of heirloom-quality, hand-crafted solid wood furniture, today announced that it has been awarded the Western Washington distribution rights for the Frank Lloyd Wright® Furniture by Copeland. The distribution agreement is offered through Copeland Furniture of Bradford, Vermont, who is the sole licensee with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to produce pieces based on the late master’s designs.

Frank Lloyd Wright® Furniture by Copeland debuts at McKinnon’s downtown Seattle retail location on January 26, 2007.

Now available to customers for pre-order, McKinnon reports the initial collection will include furniture designed during the architect’s Prairie period of 1899-1910. Designs from the Prairie Period are closely related to Mission, Arts and Crafts, and Bungalow styles. The initial product introductions include Wright’s classic Taliesen Barrel Chair, a full dining room, upholstery, occasional tables, and a bedroom group – nearly 20 pieces in all, with more expected to follow.

“We’re thrilled to offer our current and new customers this rare new line of quality wood furniture,” stated Sheila McKinnon, founder and president of McKinnon Furniture. “Our decision to expand our own signature furniture collection and represent the new Frank Lloyd Wright® Furniture by Copeland was made for several reasons: the high quality of product, the willingness to expand the furniture selection to include complete collections of furniture, and the ability to achieve price points allowing all generations to own Mr. Wright’s furniture designs and to be able to integrate them into their own individual décor.”
