New York-based interior designer Joanne de Guardiola mixed organic elements with contemporary home furnishings to create this eclectic, modern-day loft space. De Guardiola’s creation was part of the AD 100 Pavilion’s centerpiece showcase at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, held March 6-9 at New York City’s Pier 94.

Produced by Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., the 2008 Architectural Digest Home Design Show included its first-ever design showcase. Located in the AD 100 Pavilion at New York City’s Pier 94, the display featured room settings by three interior designers on Architectural Digest’s AD 100, a list of acclaimed architects and interior designers whose work has been featured in the magazine.

Interior designer Joanne de Guardiola envisioned a young, trendy couple in downtown Manhattan when creating her modern living room. The resulting space was rich with texture, due to her pairing of natural, unrefined products with sleek, smooth contemporary home furnishings.
