Currently under construction in Downtown New York is the new W Hotel & Residences at 123 Washington Street. The 57-story tower has been designed by Gwathmey Siegel Architects, with GRAFT providing the interior design. When completed, the building will have 217 hotel rooms, as well as 222 residences.

Not the superhero kind, though. Watson is an artist who works in steel, with a repertoire that includes furniture, lighting and countertops.
Watson is a third-generation metalworker who started as an industrial fabricator. Yearning to apply his talents to something more creative, Watson began crafting furniture, fixtures and art nearly 20 years ago. He and his wife, Nicole, opened a showroom in New York City in 1987. UNCONVENTIONAL architect Jean mic Perrine has come up with an audacious new idea – ready made, stackable, expandable pod homes.
The sign in the lobby says Perrine Architecture, Level 1. Step out of the lift and it’s not clear where to go next. Directly opposite is a trendy office furniture showroom and to the left, down the corridor is a simple, frosted glass door devoid of any clue as to what is behind it. Try the door and you find a typically stylish, minimalistic architects’ studio. The lack of signage is not a yet to be done job. (more…)
