Modern loft interior design should create a functional and comfortable floor plan with spaces for relaxation, entertaining, storage, and working. These different loft living areas can then be defined with room dividers, rugs, or furniture. Much of contemporary art finds itself preoccupied with the discrepancies that exist between humans and the lightning-fast changes going on in their living space. Such changes come from technology, quick-flashing bits of media spectacle (in the paper, on television, and now on the Web) and other elements of modernity with which, for better or worse, we must coexist. The artists of our time synthesize these elements and react to them, pessimistically or optimistically.

When Tara Kirk arrives at work, she immediately walks upstairs to the kitchen and grabs a cup of coffee.
Typical morning behavior, right?
But a majority of her co-workers at Firehouse, an advertising and branding agency in Far North Dallas, do the same thing – and then they sit and socialize in their company’s living room.
